6V AC-AC Linear Wall Transformer — 1670mA (1.67A) |

Part AC-0616A

The AC-0616A is a UL/cUL Listed linear wall-mount AC-to-AC power adapter delivering clean 6V AC output at 1670mA (1.67 Amps). This is a specialty adapter for devices that specifically require 6VAC alternating current (~) — most commonly vintage holiday lighting, animated Christmas ornaments, and fiber-optic decorations that cannot run on DC power.

⚠️ Important Tech Tip: This is an AC-to-AC adapter. It outputs alternating current (~), NOT DC (⏳). The vast majority of consumer electronics require DC. Check your device's power label for the ~ symbol or VAC before purchasing. Using this on a DC-only device can cause permanent damage.

As a non-regulated linear supply, the output voltage will measure higher than 6V under no-load conditions and will settle to the rated voltage once a load is applied.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if my device needs 6VAC or 6VDC?
A: Check the power input label on your device. AC is indicated by the ~ symbol or the letters VAC. DC is indicated by or VDC. If it says DC, this adapter will not work.

Q: Why does my voltmeter read higher than 6V?
A: Linear transformers are non-regulated. The output voltage reads higher under no-load (nothing plugged in) and settles to the rated 6V when a load is applied. This is normal behavior.

Q: Is this compatible with international voltages?
A: No — this unit is designed for 120V AC 60Hz (US/Canada only). It is not compatible with 220-240V outlets without a step-down transformer.

Q: What if I need a different voltage?
A: See our full AC-AC adapter line for 9V, 12V, 14V, 18V, and other voltages.
